Gazpromneft Aero expands presence in India

13 February 2013

Gazpromneft Aero, operator of Gazprom Neft’s aviation fuel business, has signed an agreement with Transaero for the fueling of the airline’s regular flights at the Mangalore International Airport, a major transportation hub in Southern India where one of the country’s most important seaports is also located. At present, the Gazpromneft Aero aviation fueling network includes six airports in India’s most important tourist and business centers, including Goa, Delhi, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Ahmedabad, and Mangalore. The Gazpromneft Aero network in India is one of the company’s biggest overseas networks.

Fueling operations in India are conducted under a fuel supply contract between Gazpromneft Aero and Hindustan Petroleum signed in 2010. Under the contract, Gazpromneft Aero provides guaranteed fueling services for its Russian customers at Indian airports. Over two years of cooperation, the total volume of aviation fuel supplied by Gazpromneft Aero through Hindustan Petroleum has increased by six times, and amounted to over 11,000 tons in 2012.

“In the future, we plan to develop our partnership with Hindustan Petroleum, which gives us good opportunities to expand the geographical scope of Gazpromneft Aero’s operations in India. We are confident that airlines from Russia and the CIS countries will appreciate the advantages of our formula-based pricing system, which allows our customers to have guaranteed aviation fuel supplies both in Russia and abroad based on unified contracts,” noted Gazpromneft Aero CEO Vladimir Yegorov.
